IS IT RAINING YET? The threat of Tropical Storm Fay lingers for the Tampa Bay area, prompting school closures all around. Click on the links for information about Pinellas, Hillsborough, Pasco and Hernando. Up to a third of all Florida districts plan to close today, the Palm Beach Post reports.

HAVE A DRINK: A group of U.S. college and university presidents propose lowering the drinking age to 18, saying it would help decrease binge drinking. University of Miami president Donna Shalala is among those who says the idea is ridiculous, the AP reports.

MORE CUTS: Tallahassee Community College looks to increased class sizes as one solution as it seeks to reduce spending by $2.5-million, the Tallahassee Democrat reports.
