BOG chancellor to step down

Mark_rosenberg
Three years after being appointed chancellor of the board that oversees Florida’s 11 public universities, and one year longer than he said he would stay, Mark B. Rosenberg has announced he is stepping down.

Rosenberg, left, said earlier today he will return to Florida International University as a member of the faculty in February.

“I have learned a lot in my time in Tallahassee, and I have made many new friendships,” Rosenberg said in a news release. “However, teaching is my first love, and I miss being on a university campus and interacting with students and faculty. I believe the time is right for me to move back to that environment.”

Board of Governors chairwoman Sheila McDevitt said a search will begin immediately for Rosenberg’s replacement.
