Controversial Carvalho emails surface

We've reported this morning about some controversial emails being circulated that suggest Miami-Dade and Pinellas superintendent candidate Alberto Carvalho had an intimate relationship with a Miami Herald schools reporter. The Miami New Times has included a link to the emails.

Carvalho said the emails appear to have been doctored as part of a "smear campaign" against him. He has strongly denied anything beyond a professional relationship with the reporter, Tania deLuzuriaga, who is now with the Boston Globe. Carvalho has ordered an investigation into the emails.
