St. Petersburg College to offer new "green" degree programs
St. Petersburg College will offer two new degree programs this fall, both focusing on environmental issues.
The bachelor’s degree in applied science in sustainability management will focus on sustainable business and communication strategies, energy and resource management, legal aspects of sustainability, and sustainability in built and natural environments.
The associate of science degree in environmental science technology degree will include the sub areas of water resource management, environmental resources/energy management and sustainability.
SPC sustainability coordinator Jason Green said in a news release that environmental issues are no longer a fad, but rather a philosophy that is becoming part of the collective social conscious.
“Now more than ever, the college has the opportunity to provide the leadership needed to train our community for the ‘Green Collar’ jobs of the future,” Green said.
