Florida's new chancellor to be named July 17

Florida's state university system will have a new leader named by July 17.

The Board of Governors' chancellor Search Committee will meet via conference call a week from today, on July 13, at 1 p.m. to hear the search consultant's report on candidates for the job. Rumored to be among them, or at least pondering it heavily, is former Lt. Gov. Frank Brogan, now FAU president.

During the conference call, committee members will select candidates to be interviewed Friday, July 17, beginning at 8 a.m. at the Tampa Airport Marriott at the Tampa International Airport.

The search committee will recommend a candidate to the Board of Governors, which will convene at 4 p.m. that day to appoint the new chancellor.
