Pasco gets name suggestions for virtual school: Are any of them worthy?

The Pasco school district wants to give its new, state-mandated virtual school a name that makes clear it's a real school and not just some Internet portal somewhere. It received 10 suggestions — way fewer than the number it usually gets when it asks for naming recommendations — and plans to choose one Tuesday.

The proposed names are:

  • PAVE - Pasco Virtual Education
  • Virtual School for All Ages
  • Dr. Vinton G. Cerf
  • Endeavor Virtual School
  • VIP - Virtual Instruction Program
  • VIPS - Virtual Instruction of Pasco Schools
  • Looking Glass Virtual School
  • PVC - Pasco Virtual Center
  • eSchool
  • Pasco-WISE - Web-Integrated Scholastic Environment
  • Pasco Pupil Portal
  • Cyber School

Like any of them? We'll throw our considerable influence behind Looking Glass, if the district will get Alice to be its symbol and have every student read Lewis Carroll. (Beware the Jabberwock, my son.)
