When she decided not to renew communication director Maureen Moore for another year, Pasco schools superintendent Heather Fiorentino spoke of the need to do take the job in a different direction.
She left the post open for several weeks, and declined to talk in detail about her plans.
The other day, Fiorentino advertised the job with pay ranging from about $74,000 to about $114,000, depending on experience. And she talked today with the Gradebook about what she hopes to see.
"We need to make sure we're more proactive and not reactive" when news occurs, Fiorentino said. "I think we should be feeding you stories and not just leaving you to find some. We have so many great things going on, we should be sharing them."
Eleven people applied for the post. Fiorentino would not speculate on who she might choose. The list is:
Richard Wendlek, former Pasco Elementary principal, founder of Academy at the Lakes
