Hey, kids. Design the Florida Department of Education Web site

So you think you can design a Web site?

The Florida Department of Education has challenged students in the state's career programs to turn the  student page of the DOE site into something more kid-friendly. And let's face it, the institutional look of the current page isn't really that.

"We are living in the age of technology where the mastery of these skills can lead our children into fulfilling and prosperous careers," Lt. Governor Kottkamp said in a release announcing the contest. "This competition is a wonderful opportunity for our students to display their talent."

Submissions must be sent to the DOE on a CD, postmarked by Nov. 20. The winner will see his or her work on the Web site in 2010.

See the rules for more details.
