Sure, the current occupant of Florida's Governor's Mansion is taking lots of credit for the state's education successes over the past few years.

But it's the guy he replaced -- that's right, Jeb Bush -- who's making the national rounds convincing other states' leaders to consider doing things his way.

Bush hit Indiana earlier in September, wowing government bigwigs there with his accountability mantra. Next up, Arizona.

Bush's Foundation for Excellence in Education has joined the Goldwater Institute in announcing that Bush will address the a special joint meeting of Arizona's Senate and House education committees Thursday. He'll talk about "successes and lessons of Florida’s Formula for Student Achievement as part of a discussion on efforts to improve the quality of education in the Grand Canyon State."

After that comes D.C., where Bush will host a "national summit on education reform" Oct. 8. Panelists include Checker Finn, Ric Hanushek, Gene Wilhoit and a variety of other well-known education thinkers. (See the agenda for details.)
