Florida education news: Learning Chinese, barred from homecoming, skipping ESOL training and more

LEARNING IN CHINESE: An elementary school in South Miami becomes the first English/Mandarin school in South Florida, the Miami Herald reports.

SHE CAN'T DANCE: A Manatee teen attending Florida Virtual School is turned away from a local high school's homecoming dance because she hadn't properly registered as a home-schooling student there, the Bradenton Herald reports. Complaints ensue.
