Second candidate files to run for Pinellas School Board

And then there were two.

Linda Dabney Benware filed yesterday to run for the at-large District 2 seat now held by Nina Hayden, who is running for state Senate. Jessica Summers of Largo filed for that seat last week.

Benware was the first principal at St. Petersburg Collegiate High School, a charter school that opened in August 2004, and retired from there in 2008. Over a 35-year career, she also taught gifted students, supervised the district's magnet programs, and was principal of Tarpon Springs Middle and St. Petersburg High.
