Share your thoughts about Pasco County schools

Yes, folks, it's that time of year again when the Pasco County school district tries to get parents to share their opinions about their children's education.

The district launched its annual parent survey online today, giving parents two weeks to rate statements like "I consider my child's school to be an excellent school."

In past years, the district's response rate has sagged, with pockets of high participation but an overall dismal return rate. (Last year, 9 percent of parents answered the survey, down from 11.9 percent the year before but still better than the 2006 low of 6.4 percent.)

To try to encourage more responses, principals and the superintendent plan to send robo-calls home to families. Let's just hope they send out the right message.
