Florida education news: FCAT scores, AP tests, class size and more

Superintendents from five of Florida's largest school districts including Hillsborough suggest that this year's FCAT results are inaccurate and call for an independent review. MORE AP TESTS: A growing number of Florida high school students take Advanced Placement exams, but with only mixed results as they passed more tests but the passing rates generally dropped.

REGISTER NOW: Brevard school officials urge parents to sign up kids for school as soon as possible so the district can cope with the class size amendment, Florida Today reports.

A JOB FOR THE CLERGY: Polk School Board members will stop offering up prayers before meetings, instead inviting members of the clergy to pray for them, the Lakeland Ledger reports. 

NO MORE SRO'S? The Broward Sheriff's Office says it might not be able to afford putting resource officers in schools anymore, the Miami Herald reports.

WHERE TO GRADUATE? Palm Beach officials work out a less costly deal to keep graduation ceremonies at their preferred location, the Palm Beach Post reports.
