New principal is named at Trapnell Elementary

Krissy Perkins, the assistant principal of Trapnell Elementary in Plant City, was promoted to principal at Tuesday's meeting of the Hillsborough County School Board.

Perkins, 38, has been with the school district since 2000. She began her career as a teacher at Lithia Springs, Mintz and Brooker Elementary schools. She was a reading coach at McDonald Elementary before joining Trapnell in 2009.

Perkins replaces Alan Black, who is now principal of Burney Elementary School.

The board also moved Matthew Testoni, an assistant principal at Lomax Elementary, to Carrollwood Elementary.
