Jameis Winston a no-go for Wiregrass Ranch High School graduation

Who's in?

Apparently not Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Jameis Winston, who asked that question as part of a Twitter contest in which his attendance at a local high school graduation was the prize.

Three Pasco County schools — Wiregrass Ranch, Mitchell and River Ridge — had the most students tweeting #JameisGradSpeaker with one day to go, and Wiregrass Ranch won the nod.

Just one problem. While he asked for each interested school's name, Winston didn't request the time, date and place of the ceremony.

"It turns out 4 p.m. May 24 didn't work" for him, Pasco County school district spokeswoman Linda Cobbe said.

So he won't show up at the USF Sun Dome to speak to Wiregrass High grads after all. But Winston still might make an appearance at the school.

Cobbe said the principal and the quarterback's representatives have discussed him visiting campus to meet with students — just at another time that actually fits his schedule.

Representatives for Winston could not be reached for comment.
