Assistant superintendent to take over Seven Springs Elementary School top spot
Todd Cluff, most recently assistant superintendent overseeing schools in northwest Pasco County, has taken a new assignment as principal of Seven Springs Elementary School. A one-time principal of Sand Pine Elementary in Wesley Chapel, Cluff takes over for Vicki Wolin, who becomes principal of Bexley Elementary on Jan. 17.
Cluff announced just before winter break that he wanted to return to a school-based job after working in the district administration. His decision came as superintendent Kurt Browning said he would reorganize his team away from an area structure to a more traditional one, in order to seek better academic outcomes.
Cluff had said he wanted to work in a school that faces significant challenges, after having spent much of his time the past few years working in low-income, high-needs schools. Seven Springs Elementary recently dropped its state grade from an A to a D, the biggest decline in the county.
Still unannounced is the next principal for Wesley Chapel High School, to replace Carin Nettles, who will become principal of Cypress Creek Middle-High. Interviews are scheduled and a selection is expected within a week.
