Board of Governors spokeswoman moves to USF
The spokeswoman for Florida's Board of Governors is taking on a new role at one of the universities within the state system.
Kim Wilmath, who has spent the last year as director of communications for the board that oversees the State University System, has taken a post at the University of South Florida working in the office of provost Ralph Wilcox. She'll be dealing with higher education policy and Board of Governors-related issues. She will begin her job on Oct. 7. Wilmath, 26, was a Tampa Bay Times reporter until Aug. 2012.
"I've so enjoyed my time with the Board of Governors the past year," Wilmath said. "But I'm looking forward to new challenges with USF, and I'm especially excited about coming home to Tampa."
It comes at a time of change for the Board of Governors, currently searching for a new chancellor after Frank Brogan announced he was moving to take a new job in Pennsylvania. Jan Ignash, Brogan's second-in-command, is serving as interim chancellor. The permanent replacement will be named no later than June 19, 2014.
