2012 Florida graduation rates: A local look

As we noted Friday, Florida saw what officials are calling an unprecedented 3.9 percentage point jump in its high school graduation rate in 2012, to 74.5 percent. It used a new federal formula, which excluded some of the students previously considered graduates. The state then applied the new method to past years, to make comparisons more meaningful.

Local school districts all showed some growth. Only the Pasco school district outperformed the state rate for 2011-12. For 2010-11, Florida was among the lowest performing states. That comparison was not yet available for 2011-12. See state spreadsheets on district and school level data attached below.
