Accounting doctoral program at USF gets top marks

1004collegeofbusinessresized The University of South Florida’s accounting program is one of five doctoral programs ranked in Public Accounting Report’s annual assessment of the nation’s top accounting education programs, coming in at No. 25.

The independent newsletter of the accounting profession compiled its rankings by surveying more than 1,500 accounting professors and department heads and chairs. Stephanie Bryant, director of the School of Accountancy at USF’s College of Business, said the ranking is special because it demonstrates USF’s increasing national prominence.

“What makes the findings particularly gratifying is that the respondents were 1,557 accounting professors –- our peers,” Bryant said in a news release. “They recognize that many of tomorrow’s finest professors are coming from the University of South Florida.”

The news was announced two months after the Princeton Review named USF’s Center for Entrepreneurship’s graduate program No. 5 in the nation.
