Education news and notes from Tampa Bay and Florida

Another week, another round of FCAT results

The Florida Department of Education has announced it will publicly release third-grade FCAT results at 10 a.m. on Thursday. School districts are scheduled to receive the student data at 6 a.m.

Third graders currently are the only Florida students who face retention if they do not score at grade level on the test and do not qualify for one of the handful of exceptions.

The rest of the results are supposed to arrive before the end of the first week of June.
