Blanton says there's nothing more for him to discuss with Cutter
The man the Pinellas County School Board hired to conduct its superintendent search says he has no plan to ask superintendent finalist Christian Cutter for a written explanation of his resume and application.
Cutter's application came under question this week by School Board member Linda Lerner, who aired her concerns in a Tuesday meeting and secured a 4-3 vote to request that Cutter provide answers to their concerns.
Wayne Blanton, left, executive director of Florida School Boards Association, told the Tampa Bay Times today that he wasn't surprised the board took the vote. But, as we reported in today's story, he said he already talked to Cutter about these issues.
"I can't call him back," he said. "I already talked to him about it. What is there to discuss?"
Asked if he thought Cutter's explanation was satisfactory, Blanton said he believed it was.
"You cannot include everything about everything in your life in the resume. And as I told the board the other day, where the rubber meets the road is in the interviews."
Cutter and the other two job candidates are expected to publicly interview with the School Board on Aug. 22 and 23.
