Bloomin' blogs

Hillsborough School Board member April Griffin may be the first blog-happy pol in that district, but nationally she's part of a growing trend, according to a story in the most recent edition of Education Week. Education observers estimate hundreds of principals, superintendents and other education leaders are blogging and many more are likely to in the future. Gradebook regulars know why: blogs have become the way to post information quickly and get constant feedback. "People are talking about your organizations anyway," Scott McLeod, a Minneapolis-based education technology expert, told Education Week. "Would you rather they talk behind your back, and you don't know about it? Or would you rather it be in a way that you can respond to, and have other community members see it?"
