Board to vote on earlier start time for Thurgood Marshall
Pinellas County school board members are prepared tomorrow to vote on an earlier start time for Thurgood Marshall Fundamental Middle school.
Instead of starting at 9:30 a.m. and going until 4:15 p.m., the school day could last from 9 a.m. until 3:45 p.m., if school board members give the ok during their 5 p.m. board meeting Tuesday.
Parents at Marshall have vocally advocated for an earlier start-time in the past year, so much so that some parents have begged the board to free them from being required to provide busing to students.
