Broward teachers union head under investigation
Pat Santeramo, the long-time leader of the Broward Teachers Union, is under investigation by the Florida Elections Commission and the Broward State Attorney's Office, the Miami Herald reports.
"Both investigating agencies would not disclose the nature of the probe, but union spokesman John Ristow said the investigations are related to possible violations of campaign contribution laws. ... In a letter made public Monday, four of the union's executive board members are calling for Santeramo to step down."
Santeramo is married to Lynne Webb, president of the United School Employees of Pasco.
