Calculating grades at the mall
If you're at the mall in Palm Beach County this weekend, don't be surprised to see a teacher sitting in the food court working on grades.
The Palm Beach Classroom Teachers Association is planning a "grade-in" at three shopping centers to show the public just how hard its members work, even when they're off the clock.
"I hope the public will actually see what we do and understand our job does not end when the children leave the classroom. We are still in the classroom for hours afterward or at home for hours afterward grading papers," organizer Suzi Grbinich told the Palm Beach Post. "The pay is not commensurate with the work we do."
Think anyone will look up from their giant pizza slice long enough to notice?
