Changes at the top for FLDOE

Kris Ellington, the Florida Department of Education's point person on recent school grade policy changes, is on her way out of the department at the end of the week.

Ellington, who has been deputy commissioner of accountability, research and measurement, "will take time to recover from her recent injury and then move on to a new role in the private sector," commissioner Gerard Robinson informed the staff in a memo today. "I know you join me in thanking Kris for her years of leadership in assessment and accountability in Florida."

Jane Fletcher, director of accountability and policy research, will take the deputy commissioner post on an interim basis beginning Monday.
