Charter school enrollment tops 2 million

Charter schools have reached another high-water mark. Nationwide enrollment in charter schools jumped by an estimated 200,000 students this year, and now tops two million, according to an announcement this morning from the National Alliance for Public Charter Schools.

Florida added 23,500 charter students over the past year, second only to California with 47,000, according to the alliance. The state now has 520 charter schools, third in the country after California (983) and Arizona (524). More Florida charter stats here.
