Civics lesson turned political at Pasco high school appears a sham, columnist Bowen writes
The story came out as Democratic activists sneaking into Pasco County's Gulf High School to push a pro-Obama message on students. Rejected in their efforts to address the same classes, Pasco Republicans complained locally, and made noise for the national media.
A school district investigation into what really happened suggests that the story wasn't exactly as it seemed. Columnist C.T. Bowen suggests that the teacher involved appears to have been covering for her own missteps.
"Dixon did telephone the local Republican Party headquarters and received a phone message back on Sept. 11 urging her to contact Bunting as soon as possible to arrange a time from him to speak to her class.
"So, how is it that teacher Dixon already was arranging a rebuttal when Organizing for America hadn't been to her class yet and she had told her bosses the speech would be non-partisan?"
