College bound? Groups can help with financial aid

Cgs287 The economy stinks. Getting into college is tough enough, right UF hopefuls? But then there's that money thing. Who can figure out that FAFSA form?

There must be some help somewhere.

ENLACE Florida has put together College Goal Sunday in nine Florida cities, including Tampa, specifically to help limited-income college-bound students find a way to pay for college.

"During these tough economic times, we believe helping students gain access to federal funds designed to help pay for college is essential," Karemah Campbell, site coordinator for the University Of Central Florida Office of Student Financial Assistance, said in a news release. "We hope to serve thousands of students through this initiative."

Supporting ENLACE Florida in this effort are the Lumina Foundation for Education, USA Funds and the National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators. "These organizations know the challenges many students face preparing for college and have all come together to help students and families successfully complete a form that can be very intimidating," ENLACE Florida assistant director Braulio Colón said in a release.

Go on. Let them help you. And tell your friends. College Goal Sunday runs both this coming Saturday and Sunday afternoons.
