Coming Thursday: BOG's USF Poly transition task force meets
The Florida Board of Governors' committee charged with overseeing USF Polytechnic's transition to independence meets for the first time tomorrow.
Just two months after voting to delay the Lakeland branch campus's split from USF, the board members will get a status update on the separation conditions they set, which are expected to take several years. They will also hear from USF Poly's new interim chancellor, Lakeland accountant David Touchton.
USF President Judy Genshaft's appointment of Touchton earned her a tongue lashing last month from those board members, who said she lacked "collaboration," in the way she replaced embattled USF Poly leader Marshall Goodman.
Touchton is likely to give the board members another rosy report of the campus's progress, like he recently gave USF trustees.
