Counting on that stimulus money? The application is in the mail

EricJSmith While the Florida Senate is building its education budget with expectations of money from the federal stimulus plan, the Florida Department of Education still is waiting for the application to seek a waiver from some of the rules.

Commissioner Eric J. Smith said today that he expects the forms to arrive tomorrow, and to have them completed by the end of the week.

"The feds told us it should be a two-week turnaround," FDOE spokeswoman Kelsey Lehtomaa told the Gradebook.
