Crist meets with student body presidents, talks tuition and budget cuts
Gov. Charlie Crist met with student university presidents Tuesday morning as part of his "Tallahassee Tuesday" visits at the Governor's Mansion.
Joe O'Shea of Dunedin, student body president at Crist's alma mater Florida State, said Crist talked to them about tuition and asked for their thoughts on how best to cut the state budget during the special session later this month.
"He asked how we can improve the state, and he was pretty much open to talking about anything," said O'Shea.
Crist also did his homework. O'Shea said he was surprised to arrive at the mansion and find Crist - or his media team - already knew O'Shea was a fellow Pike like the governor, and that he helped start a free clinic in New Orleans' Lower 9th Ward last summer.
