Department mergers still in exploratory phase for Pasco school district
In speeches before winter break, Pasco schools superintendent Kurt Browning made clear his intent to streamline the district administration, merging and renaming departments, reassigning staff as necessary.
Now to the details.
Though he has very clear ideas about this direction, such as combining the special education and student services departments, Browning tells the Gradebook that he and his core leadership team still must review the options for the feasibility of each idea.
"We're going to start to drill down a little bit more," Browning said. "That's going to be a big priority over the next three to four months. ... If we get into it and find it's not in the best interest of those kids and their teachers, we're not going to do it."
