Donaldson: My campaign is 'not controversial'

Sdonaldsonjpg Taken to task for trying to place campaign ads in local high school football programs, Pasco schools superintendent candidate Stephen Donaldson has come back with a call to get the facts straight.

In a letter to the Gradebook, Donaldson says he was not complaining about his ads being pulled from the publications, but rather seeking information about why it happened so close to print time. "Politics perhaps?" he wonders.

Donaldson asserts that his campaign fully studied the relevant Pasco school district and FHSAA policies before purchasing the ads, and he believes his ad violates neither. The administration's suggestion otherwise is pure spin, he suggests.

It certainly is not controversial to inform the parents of Pasco County athletes that Steve Donaldson has a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership; is a 25?Year U.S. Air Force Officer (retired); is a current Gulf High School teacher and a husband, father and  grandfather.

It seems the only "controversial" issue raised in our advertisement was to Vote for Steve Donaldson on November 4, 2008. Now, Pasco County readers can decide for themselves.
