Don't forget: Electronics aren't allowed in the FCAT room

No_cell_phones_allowedIt's not a new rule, but it's one that bears repeating.

Cell phones, iPods and other electronic devices are not permitted in the room where kids take the FCAT exam that begins tomorrow. Even if it's off, just sitting in a book bag.

Why? To avoid cheating, of course. The Florida Department of Education and all 67 school districts take this very seriously. Unfortunately, officials lament, some students don't.

Just last year, six students in Pasco and 27 in Hernando had their exams invalidated for having or, in some cases, using their phones during the FCAT.

Maybe the districts should text the kids to remind them.
