Even more Democrats voting for vouchers
Last year, a surprisingly big handful of Democrats in the Florida House voted for an expansion of corporate tax credit vouchers. This morning, 21 did – which is about half of the Democratic caucus. It seems like we’ve written a variation on this story several times, but as long as the number of Florida Democrats supporting vouchers continues to grow, that’s news, isn’t it?
HB 453, which would expand the funding base for tax credit vouchers, passed 94-23. The Senate version is still pending.
The Tampa Bay area Dems who voted yes are Bill Heller, left, and Darryl Rouson of St. Petersburg; Janet Long of Seminole; and Betty Reed and Mike Scionti of Tampa. Rick Kriseman of St. Petersburg voted no.
