FAMU grade changes under investigation
The FAMU Police Department is investigating unauthorized grade changes that were made to student records, according to the Tallahassee Democrat and the FAMUAN student paper, which broke the story this morning. A press release from FAMU says changes were made to "several" records. The FAMUAN (see story here) says several individuals are under investigation for making the changes.
Here is the entirety of a written statement from FAMU President James Ammons: "We have a zero tolerance for this kind of behavior. We must find those responsible and make sure that they are prosecuted. We understand and take seriously the responsibility we have to provide a quality education and to protect the integrity of the academic records of the nearly 12,000 students we serve. Please trust that we will manage the situation with the best interests of our students in mind. We ask for your continued support and patience as we work to resolve this matter."
