FCAT retake results are out
Sixteen percent of Florida high school seniors retaking the reading FCAT passed on their most recent attempt, while 28 percent of those retaking the math FCAT did so, according to results just released by the Florida Department of Education. Students must pass the 10th grade FCAT in both reading and math (and meet other requirements) in order to graduate, or get a comparable score on the SAT or ACT. They have five chances to pass before graduation.
Here's the local breakdown of percent passing, first in reading and then in math:
Hernando: 21, 41
Hillsborough: 18, 30
Pasco: 20, 35
Pinellas: 14, 22
