Final draft for science standards
The state Department of Education issued the final draft for the proposed science standards today, 18 days before the big vote. We here at The Gradebook have not scoured all 100 pages yet (truth be told, we only looked to see how many pages there were), but all signs – including this statement from the National Center for Science Education - indicate little has changed with the evolution language.
On a related note, Education Commissioner Eric J. Smith has scheduled one final public hearing on the standards, this one in Orlando on Feb. 11. The hearing will be from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Orlando Hyatt in the Orlando International Airport.
