Finalists named for Pinellas educator of the year



The Pinellas school district has named the six finalists for the 2010-11 Outstanding Educator of the Year. Each of them got the news in a surprise visit to their schools yesterday. And the winners are ...

* Tracy Staley, Ponce de Leon Elementary, 1301 Ponce de Leon Blvd., Clearwater, 5th-grade science/writing teacher.

* Sara Carroll, Morgan Fitzgerald Middle, 6410 118th Ave. N, Largo, 6th-grade READ 180/special education teacher.

* Susan Pomeroy, Azalea Elementary, 1680 74th St. N, St. Petersburg, 3rd-grade STARS teacher.

* Jessica Felice, Starkey Elementary, 9300 86th Ave, N, Seminole, 5th-grade general education teacher.

* Sandra Rosado, Perkins Elementary, 2205 18th Ave. S, St. Petersburg, 4th- and 5th-grade Spanish teacher.

* Vicki Meredith, Woodlawn Elementary, 1600 16th St. N, St. Petersburg, 5th grade math/science teacher.
