Fiorentino: 'We're on the right track' with campaign

Tb_schoolporn_mug This morning, we reported that the United School Employees of Pasco hopes the labor movement might upset incumbent Pasco superintendent Heather Fiorentino's re-election bid.

We asked Fiorentino how worried she is.

She acknowledged she's in a real race against challenger Steve Donaldson: "Every campaign you take seriously. One election I won by only 23 votes." But she also suggested that the public is less interested in some of the details that have riled school employees.

"On the whole, I think people are very pleased with the school system," Fiorentino told the Gradebook. "When I knock on doors, I know we're on the right track."

The USEP is not letting up, though. It's pushing every button of its members to get them interested and active in the race. See its latest bargaining update for an example.
