Education news and notes from Tampa Bay and Florida

First stop on Gov. Rick Scott's listening tour: Jacksonville

10

September

UPDATE: It's not really your chance to tell the governor what you think. The Florida Times-Union reports that the listening tour is by invitation only and not open to the general public.

For those of you looking to give Gov. Rick Scott a thought or two about Florida education, your first chance is in Jacksonville at Pinedale Elementary School, 4229 Edison Avenue. The governor just released his schedule for the day, and here's what's on tap. And in case you wondered about how much he wants people to see he's doing this, note media availability before and after.

3:45pm-5:00pm         JACKSONVILLE TEACHER ROUNDTABLE

5:00pm-5:10pm         JACKSONVILLE EDUCATION MEDIA AVAILABILITY

5:10pm-5:30pm         VISIT THE TEAM-UP AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAM

5:30pm-6:30pm         JACKSONVILLE PARENTS ROUNDTABLE

6:30pm-6:40pm         JACKSONVILLE EDUCATION MEDIA AVAILABILITY

If you go, let us know how it went.
