Florida Board of Education can get new commissioner search for free
The Florida Board of Education might want to call off its search for a new headhunter and just stick with Ray and Associates, the firm that found Gerard Robinson a year ago.
As board member John Padget suggested during Thursday morning's conference call, the board did have a guarantee from Ray and Associates in its 2011 contract. It reads:
"If the candidate selected leaves the employ of the State Board of Education within two years of executing a contract, the Contractor will perform these services again at no charge to the Department, except for expenses, until a successor candidate executes a contract with the State Board of Education."
Robinson's official first day on the job was July 31, 2011. That would mean the terms should stick. In that case, the search could begin that much sooner. Stay tuned.
(Sorry, the contract was too big a file to attach to this post.)
