Florida Board of Education coming to Tampa to hear from teachers
As part of a series of workshops around the state, the Florida Board of Education is coming to Tampa in October to hear from teachers on the issue of teacher evaluations and support for effective instruction.
The BOE "What's Working" tour will address five topics in five cities, beginning with "value-added measures in education" in Panama City on Sept. 13. A Department of Education press release says before each meeting, the DOE will "make an online form available for interested stakeholders to submit their questions for discussion. During the moderated discussion, the questions will be addressed and attendees will also have an opportunity to provide feedback and comments regarding education in the state."
Each workshop will run from 4-6 p.m. The Tampa one will be held at Hillsborough Community College. See more details here.
