In the wake of the Senate Bill 6 veto, Florida Board of Education member Roberto Martinez is calling for a series of workshops on the teaching profession that will get input "from all interested parties, particularly parents, teachers, businesses, and our communities," he writes in this letter to Education Commissioner Eric J. Smith and fellow board members.

"I welcome all credible ideas for reforms," he writes. "Maintaining the status quo is not acceptable."
