Florida college students plan rally in Tally
It's not just folks in the K-12 crowd who are massing their forces to protest cuts to Florida education funding.
Thousands of college students are putting together a rally of their own to show their displeasure with the effects that budget slashing will have on their schooling.
Frank Malatesta, government affairs coordinator for USF's student government, tells the Gradebook that each of Florida's 11 public universities will be sending at least one busload of students to Tallahassee on March 4 to register their anger over cuts to the State University System.
"With tuition differential on the brink of being expanded, we cannot accept a cost shift," Malatesta said in an e-mail.
The people are talking. Are the lawmakers listening? Stay tuned.
