Florida Department of Education spokesman to depart
Before Tom Butler, the Florida Department of Education had quite the revolving door in its communications office.
Folks tended to last nine months to a year.
Butler nearly made it to his fifth anniversary, which would have come in April. Instead, he's leaving the department to take over marketing and communications for Florida State University's research office.
"I will be focused on trying to grow FSU's notoriety and really let people know all they're doing," Butler, a 1998 FSU alumni, told the Gradebook.
His last day at the FLDOE is Oct. 18. Hue Reynolds will serve as interim communication director.
