And that's just for the (estimated) 104,000 students who did not graduate from Florida high schools in 2009, according to the Alliance for Excellent Education. The alliance, which puts out a brief like this one for each state every year, also calculates that a 5 percent increase in Florida's male graduation rate would yield $507 million each year from a combination of crime-related savings and additional revenue.
