Florida education news: Ads on buses, audit woes, donor doubts, and more



BUSES AS BILLBOARDS: State Rep. Irv Slosberg, a Boca Raton Democrat, is pushing a bill that would allow school districts to sell advertising space on both sides of school buses. Slosberg is also behind a bill that would allow districts to sell naming rights to school cafeterias.

AUDIT WOES: The Lee County School District might have to reimburse its capital fund millions of dollars in the wake of an audit, the Fort Myers News Press reports.
EMPTY PLEDGE?: A man with a checkered financial past has yet to deliver on a multi-million dollar pledge he made the to the Brevard Schools Foundation, Florida Today reports.
EARLY START EYED: The Palm Beach School District looks to start school a week early next year, the Palm Beach Post reports.
