CANDIDATE DOUBTS: Pinellas County School Board member Linda Lerner raised questions about a superintendent candidate's application. Christian Cutter, an assistant superintendent of a Colorado school district, is one of three finalists for the top job in Pinellas.

MORE AUDITORS: The Palm Beach County School Board objects to the cost of creating its new inspector general office, the Palm Beach Post reports.

ARRESTED: An assistant football coach said he was shocked when he was arrested on charges of falsifying high school transcripts so some of his players would be eligible for football season, the Palm Beach Post reports.

ULTERIOR MOTIVE: Education Commissioner Gerard Robinson said there may be ulterior motives behind the delay in the Polk County School District getting permission to open its own charter schools for at-risk students, the Ledger reports.
